With the NBA regular season tipping off tonight, I’m going to go against the grain and pick against the consensus pick this year to win the title.
The Warriors with Kevin Durant and Steph Curry are just too good to be true for me. People are predicting they could break their 2015-16 NBA record 73 victories this season. Too much hype. I’m already tired of the Warriors.
So I’m going to take the tried and true franchise with a starting five of Tony Parker, Danny Green, Kawhi Leonard and Pau Gasol and a bench featuring Manu Ginobili, Patty Mills and David Lee among others. It’s a super shooting, rebounding and defensive team with a superb coach in Greg Popovich. That’s a heckuva group.I like the Spurs to win their sixth NBA championship in 18 years. Their first was 1999. No Tim Duncan. The great BIg Fundamental retired with 5 championships, but this franchise keeps on cookin.
East Finals
Cavs over the Celtics in 6
West Finals
Spurs over Warriors in 7
Finals
Spurs over Cavs in 7
MVP of the League; Kawhi Leonard
Tony Parker and the Spurs capture NBA title number 6 in June

Wow, bold pick! I expected the Spurs to fade and am looking forward to an exciting season.
Thanks D! Hope you’re good!
I like the Spurs, but I still think it will be a Warriors Cavs finals….This time give it to the Warriors.
Too much hype for me, Brownie. I never trust that.
The best player in the game will repeat as champs w the Cavs. He will need a good group and injury to a minimum group around him. As long as we are looking at the crystal ball, Cavs in 7.
I disagree, Spike, but good stuff for your pick.
