Luke Kornet, a 6’10”, 195 pound power forward out of Argyle, Texas has committed. His dad, Frank, was an excellent player for us in the early ’90’s. Not sure who else offered, but the scouting report called him an excellent shooter, a good passer and that his strength is developing. VU coaching staff thinks he can add 20-30 pounds to his frame. Luke joins 2013 signee Damian Jones, a 6’10, 210 pound four-star power forward who can really play, in the fold. Vandysports likened Luke to former Duke standout Ryan Kelly. Could redshirt this year to put on weight. Like what we’re getting here. Also,A.J. Astroth is transferring. That’s OK. We’ve got a good squad next year. Hope for the best for A.J. Seemed like a hustler, good player. But we’re fine at the guard spot. Can handle that. We could be in the market for a transfer as well. Will keep you posted. Will have more on Luke in the A.M.
