So proud of the guys! We have our own version of “The Drive” now. Wow, ACS and Patton got it done when they needed to, and seniors JMatt and Jon Krause did as well. Huge effort by the Fab Four. The defense was awesome all night. We lost all four starters in the secondary in the game with Marshall, Hal and Clark going out with injuries and Kenny Ladler unfortunately getting kicked out of the game for a targeting penalty, which was probably the right call. But Kenny and Andre both had ints before they went out and the guys who took their place, Paris Head, Torren McGaster and company did an awesome job. I thought Walker May and Chase Garnham had really good games. It was just a total team effort. The defense and the late drive won this game for us.
We’re 1-0 this week, but it’s a huge one. So proud of James, the coaches and particularly the players, especially the seniors, who have given their hearts and souls to this program. They deserve this so much. On to Wake Forest, but let’s enjoy this for a couple of days and then we can look back at it after the season and enjoy it. Bowl game possibilities: Gator, Chick fil-A, maybe Music City and Liberty. Exciting times. Let’s definitely get focused on Wake and get that done, so we can get the best bowl possible. Recruiting had to take a huge boost with this victory. We have an awesome class right now with 20 guys in the class including five, four-stars and a plethora of very good three-star players. Looks like we can add two or three more. Will let you know ASAP when somebody else pops. We’re looking at 2015 too. A lot going on there too.
Bball won yesterday over Morgan State, 75-66. Kyle hit four straight free throws to close out the game. Good to see Kyle come through in the clutch. Shows leadership. Playing Loyola Marymount tomorrow in the final day at the ezybonds Paradise Jam in the St. Thomas, Virgin Islands @5 PM ET/ 4 CT. It’s on the ParadiseJam.com website through CBS sports online. I’ll try to find it. If not will have a report nonetheless on Tuesday morning. After tomorrow night, we play @ Texas, Dec.2, a week from tomorrow, @ 9 PM ET/8 CT on ESPN2. Had a good game with Providence Friday Night and competitive game with Butler last Tuesday, though we lost both. Thought we played very well a lot of the time in both those games. Like our squad. Got a real good group of hard workers who are good basketball players. Just need to learn how to close a little better, but I think that’ll come.. Think we can make the NCAA tourney.
Nothing like Anchoring Down after a UT victory!! Have an awesome day and enjoy the victory!!
Here’s an awesome song by Big and Rich from Nashville. Just thought it might make you feel good. Anchor Down!!
