This week at Bay Hill, the Arnold Palmer Invitational

Excellent tournament, the Arnie Invitational, at Bay Hill Golf and Lodge in Orlando. Weather should be perfect with temperatures in the low 80’s tomorrow and throughout the weekend. There is a 40 percent chance of showers Saturday, but probably will pass through quickly. Wind doesn’t look to be an issue according to weather.com.

Tiger Woods has won here eight times including the past two years, which is astonishing, but he’s out with a bad back. So, it’s almost like you put 144 names in a hat and pull one out on the tour this year. Very random thing, that is which player will win each week. My favorites are Rickie Fowler, Graham DeLaet, Bubba Watson, Kevin Na and Justin Rose. I’ll pick Rosie to win. He finished second to Tiger last year here and was tied eighth last week at the Valspar Championship.

The Golf Channel and NBC will televise. 3-6 PM ET/ 2-5 CT on Thursday and Friday on Golf, and 12:30-2 PM ET/11:30 AM-1 PM CT on Saturday and Sunday on Golf. NBC has coverage from 2-6 PM ET/1-5 PM CT on Saturday and Sunday. Wonder how many 15 foot putts that break right to left or left to right will Johnny Miller call “easy.”

The 18th is the hardest hole on the course. It’s a 458 yard par 4 that doglegs left to right and the second shot has a big lake on the right and sand on the left side and in back of the green. The 18th played the toughest last year in the final round. Should be classic drama on Sunday. Should be an awesome tournament. Will be a good break from basketball at some point.

LIke Rosie, the Brit, to get it done this week in this incredibly competitive field
