The Niners defense is superb. Nick Bosa is a sacking machine as he’s posted 18 1/2 sacks on the season and will most likely be voted the NFL Defensive Player of the year. Brock Purdy has done terrifically well under center. Mr. Irrelevant has become one of, if not the most important quarterback in the National Football League. Running back Christian McCaffrey, wide receiver Deebo Samuel and all world tight end George Kittle, still can’t get over his juggling catch last Sunday against the Cowboys, are seemingly unstoppable forces. The Niners have the No.1 defense in the NFL. Their defensive coordinator, DeMeco Ryans, a former linebacker at Alabama in the earlier 2000’s before S, is in line for a head job somewhere after the season due to the stellar job he’s done with the Niners defense.

But the Eagles have the No.2 defense in the NFL and led the league in sacks with 70 and added five more in the playoffs for 75 total through 18 games. Jalen Hurts is healthy now from his injured shoulder, they can run it and throw it and this game is at the Linc. DeVonta Smith, A.J. Brown and Miles Sanders are pretty awesome offensive weapons as well. If it was at Levi’s Stadium, I might go with the 49ers. But the Link will be rocking, and this Eagles team is high quality. I’ll take the Eagles to barely soar past the Niners in a tight one with some stellar defense played and enough quality offense.

I was all ready to pick the Bengals after they dismantled the Bills last Sunday at Orchard Park, 27-10. Joe Burrow and the offense were terrific and the defense stymied Josh Allen and the Bills offense on the road in heavy snow. And, after Patrick Mahomes II suffered a high ankle sprain last Saturday against the Jaguars, things were looking pretty good for the Bengals and a little slimmer for the Chiefs. Then Bengals cornerback Mike Hilton came out on Wednesday and called Arrowhead Stadium, “Burrowhead Stadium.” That’s some serious bulletin board material. The line started out with the Bengals favored by 1 and now the Chiefs are favored by 1 1/2. The Chiefs are upset and Mahomes and his team come out and take care of business and punch their ticket to Glendale. Hello Eagles-Chiefs.

Chiefs 31, Bengals 28
