The LPGA’s first major of the season will take place at the Club at Carlton Woods in The Woodlands, Texas, as the players compete for this coveted major championship.

The defending champion is Jennifer Kupcho, who won it in California, where it was played for many years. It now has a fresh start in Texas. The Woodlands is 31 miles from Houston.

There is a stellar field as expected for this major championship.

The Carlton Woods Course is 6,824 yards and is a Par 72.

Winner

This is always a tough call in majors on either the men’s or the women’s side. I’m going to take the hot golfer right now. I’m going with the 22 year old from Sydney Australia at 70/1, to capture the championship. She won at the Lotte Championship in Hawaii last week winning a three way playoff and shooting 68 on Sunday. I’ll take,

Grace Kim

I like the young lady from Australia to win in back to back weeks and capture this coveted first Major in women’s golf. (Photo courtesy of Twitter.)

  1. This is a course for bombers when the LPGA sets up at 6,824 yards. If they do play at this length I see Korda & Lexi Thompson smiling. Lydia Ko not known as a long hitter, but she has all the best skills. Tough to repeat. I Like your Grace Kim selection. Nothing better than going into a major with confidence at a peak.
