So close. Our Vanderbilt baseball team left an indelible legacy.

Not our year this year, but close to being. Corbs had a really emotional press conference, it was pretty powerful. He was very emotional when talking about what Kumar meant to him and the team, what a team guy he always was, just incredibly dedicated to his team. Didn’t finish the way he wanted to, but did so much for the program and won it all for us 2 years ago. He said that Carter Young was probably 50% and played through a lot of pain from his dislocated left shoulder at the end of the season. Said he’s an awesome kid and a great competitor with awesome parents who have raised him well. Enrique was playing hurt and battled through it, and Tate couldn’t throw due to an arm injury, and could only hit.

He also gave State a lot of credit. Just was their year this year. Will be excited to see Jack, Kumar, Nick M. Luke M and anybody else who goes to the big leagues if those guys all decide to go to MLB.
We have a good group returning next season, and a really good recruiting class coming in, so we’ve got a shot to be in Omaha next year and, once there, have another shot at winning it all.
A lot to be proud of with this group. Corbs said the wear and the tear of the season, the emotion of winning the Regional and the Super Regional and the grueling games in the CWS, may have taken a toll of us in the championship series.
Regardless, proud of these guys for their dedication to Vanderbilt Baseball and Vanderbilt University. They will be remembered with great fondness and have left an indelible legacy at VU. Congratulations, guys, on an awesome season. You gave Vandy Nation a lot to be proud of. Proud of you and appreciate you so much.
We’ll be back, I/m sure of that. Football getting more commits and Stack kicking tail in recruiting in 2021 and 2022. More on Clark and Stack coming up in the next couple of weeks. Happy 4th, have a fun, relaxing long weekend. God Bless and Anchor Down!
