Vanderbilt Baseball advances to the College World Series Championship Series

Has advanced to the championship series of the College World Series. Today’s game with NC State was declared a no contest by the NCAA as there were so many NC State players in COVID protocol that they are unable to field a team. Don’t know if any of their players who played yesterday are in protocol today.

But Kumar Rocker’s and Luke Murphy’s pitching yesterday and some timely hitting by C.J. Rodriguez and Parker Noland allowed us to win yesterday’s contest, 3-1.

We will now face today’s Mississippi State-Texas winner on Monday Night. Texas defeated State last night, 8-5, to force a deciding game today as both teams have a loss. Today’s game starts at 6 PM CT on ESPN2.

The Championship Series is the best 2 out of 3 games with games Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, if necessary, at 6 PM CT on ESPN2.

Jack Leiter can take the hill for us Monday Night now. It worked out well for us. Sorry for NC State, but really elated for our team as we play for our third national championship in program history starting Monday Night. State or Texas will be a formidable foe, but having Jack available Monday is tremendous.

Have an awesome weekend and Anchor Down!
