NFL Week 3, previews, prognostications

Last week 7-3

Overall: 12-6

Sunday

Chicago Bears (2-0) @ Atlanta Falcons (0-2)

After last Sunday’s catastrophic collapse against the Cowboys in which the Falcons blew a 15 point lead with 5 minutes to go, which included not recovering an onside kick that was rolling 6, 7, 8,9 yards while the Falcons were just watching it, the Falcons and Coach Dan Quinn need to recover. I read where the Special Teams Coach took the blame for the miscue on special teams. No doubt about that. It overshadowed the fact that Matt Ryan, Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley played awesome games. I see the Birds bouncing back this week at home over a surprisingly undefeated Bears team.

I like Derrick Henry and the Titans to survive in Minnesota as they are putting together a very nice season so far.

Titans 27, Vikings 24

Las Vegas Raiders (2-0) @ New England Patriots (1-1)

Gillette Stadium, Foxborough, Mass.

12 PM CT

Like Cam and the Patriots to snap back this Sunday after losing a heartbreaker last Sunday Night at Seattle, falling 35-30 with the ball on the 1 yard line on the last play of the game. Cam tried to run it in, but was stopped. Didn’t like the play-call. Thought they should have rolled Cam out to the right and had 4 receivers on the right side and taken a shot that way. The Raiders were so impressive on Monday Night Football in a 34-24 victory over the Saints, but I’ll take the Pats at home.

Patriots 35, Raiders 28

Houston Texans (0-2) @ Pittsburgh Steelers (2-0)

The Texans are desperate and Bill O’Brien is on shaky ground as head coach. I like them to play the Steelers close and almost pull it off, but the Steelers survive.

Steelers 28, Texans 27

Tampa Bay Bucs (1-1) @Denver Broncos (0-2)

The Broncos give Brady and the Bucs everything they want, but Brady and his offensive arsenal prevails at the end.

Bucs 28, Broncos 24

Dallas Cowboys (1-1) @ Seattle Seahawks (2-0)

CenturyLink Field

Seahawks by 5

The Cowboys are pretty lucky to be 1-1 and the Seahawks just barely overcame the Patriots last Sunday Night. Russell Wilson is playing at an extremely high level, and the Seattle run defense is tough. I like the Seahawks at home.

Seahawks 31, Cowboys 24

Sunday Night Football

Green Bay Packers (2-0) @ New Orleans Saints (1-1)

Mercedes-Benz Superdome

7:20 CT

NBC

Saints by 3

ARodg is another QB playing at a high level and Aaron Jones is an excellent running back for the Pack. But I like Drew and the Saints to snap back at home in a really good game.

Saints 34, Packers 30

Monday Night Football

Kansas City Chiefs (2-0) @ Baltimore Ravens (2-0)

M&T Bank Stadium

7:15 CT

Steve Levy, Brian Griese, Louis Riddick, Lisa Salters

Lead Aladdin, John Hussey

Ravens by 3 1/2

I’ll take Lamar Jackson barely over the phenomenal Patrick Mahomes and his Chiefs. Hard to go against the defending Super Bowl Champs and their sensational quarterback, but Jackson is terrific right now and the team looks like they’re on a mission to win it all at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa on February 7th, 2021.

Ravens 30, Chiefs 28
